When the weather is brutal outside, giving the gift of a blanket to a person who is homeless says “you are wanted, cared for, and loved”.  The Friends of Coal Ladies Auxiliary demonstrated their commitment by donating 38 blankets to the Helping Hands Community Resource Center to protect and keep warm homeless citizens during these adverse weather conditions.  Helping Hands is a not-for-profit organization that provides emergency services to people in the community. The First Baptist Church of Beckley spearheads this project which collects blankets, food, and clothing for those in need.  The FOCLA is happy to partner with Helping Hands and do their part to support this very important project.  If you are interested in donating to Helping Hands, please call 304-253-3467.  To learn more about the Friends of Coal Ladies Auxiliary, please go to www.friendsofcoalladies.com.
